Hello, I'm Rachel.
I'm an English-speaking therapist based in the Bassin d'Arcachon, France, offering therapy both in person and online.
Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected from themselves. They may be struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, difficult relationships, major life changes, or the lingering effects of growing up in environments where their needs, feelings, or identity weren't fully welcomed.
Others are navigating the challenges of living abroad, building a life in a new culture, or trying to find a sense of belonging far from home.
Whatever brings you here, you don't have to figure it out alone.
A little more about me…
I was born into a religious cult and submissive to it for the first 30 years of my life. I was paralyzed to live life on my terms. To come out as a queer person, to have a relationship, to get a university education, to travel and pursue things that made me happy. Once I finally took a huge risk and stepped out of my community, I realized the rules of my community weren’t real. They were fabricated to keep me in line.
Understanding that I contained all I needed within myself to run my own life was a revelation that took years to apprehend and deconstruct from a system where others told me what to do, believe, and how to live. It is one of my deepest desires to help others realize they have what it takes to live life on their terms. To be free from the ones who dictate. My life is beautiful and I am grateful every day to live it.
My Approach
One of the things I love most about this work is helping people make sense of experiences that have left them feeling stuck, confused, or disconnected from themselves.
I don't see people as broken or needing to be fixed.
More often, I see intelligent adaptations to difficult circumstances. The patterns that may be causing suffering today often began as ways of coping, protecting yourself, or finding connection.
Together, we'll explore those patterns with curiosity and compassion rather than judgment.
My work is informed by Relational Intelligence, Internal Family Systems (IFS), attachment theory, and trauma-informed practice, but what matters most is creating a space where you feel safe enough to be yourself.
What it’s like to work with me
Therapy with me is:
Collaborative — you are not told what to think, believe, or do
Non-judgmental — all parts of your experience are welcome
Trauma-informed — we move at a pace your system can actually handle
Autonomy-focused — your agency is always respected
I won’t impose beliefs or try to replace one system with another.
Instead, I support you in developing your own clarity, your own values, and your own sense of self.
Who I work with
I work with adults from a variety of backgrounds, including:
Expatriates and international residents
English speakers living in France
LGBTQ+ individuals
People navigating life transitions
Individuals exploring questions of identity and belonging
Those recovering from religious trauma, emotional neglect, or controlling family systems
Many of the people I work with share a common struggle: learning to trust themselves again.
Training & background
I have a background in theatre and teaching. My professional careers include international educational travel, acting, and teaching. In addition to being a psycho practitioner, I have taught for over a decade in the private French tertiary system, teaching theatre, public presentation, nonviolent communication, gender studies, psychology, and sociology.
My work is informed by:
Relational and attachment-based approaches
Trauma-informed, nervous-system-focused therapy
MSc in Psychology from Brunel University London
Therapeutic ethical standards of continuing education and supervision
I integrate these approaches in a way that stays grounded, relational, and adapted to you—not rigidly structured or formulaic.
